Do the devices need their own wifi network?

No, your normal one is fine. What matters is that a network printer sits on the same network as the device printing to it. Bluetooth printers pair straight to the device instead. If your wifi is weak at the pass, a cabled printer near the kitchen is usually cheaper than fixing the wifi.
